WWAC provides the perfect environment for an introduction to sailing. Our sailing dinghies are ideal for starting your sailing adventure, we have a wide variety of boats from big to small, single and double handers. Our biggest boats are our Gigs, these large boats are perfect for introducing a group of beginners into the world of sailing. These stable boats allow a group of students to enjoy the experience of sailing as a team. Students will learn how to steer the boat and trim the sails to ensure the boat sails efficiently.
Sailing is a fantastic activity and can provide a great opportunity to learn a new skill. It promotes teamwork and inter-dependence and teaches people to manage risk in a very real, yet controlled environment. For people with profound and complex disabilities it offers a great outdoor sensory experience. There is nothing better than a great day spent out on the water!
For those looking to begin to learn or improve their skills we offer the opportunity to spend two to three intense days sailing to achieve an RYA accredited award. We also offer sailing lessons on a Saturday morning and afternoon. As with all our courses please get in touch to find out our availability.
Once you have attained your RYA Level 1 Sailing certificate we offer the opportunity to hire out our boats to practice your skills and get time on the water. We also offer the prospect of bringing along your own boat and launching it on our slipway.
All our sessions are run by highly qualified and experienced RYA Dinghy instructors.

Mixed age, mixed ability sessions where everyone is working towards their various RYA certificates.
These sessions are suitable for age 8 upwards.
