WWAC provides the perfect environment for an introduction to kayaking & canoeing without a current to contend with. Our very sheltered waters combined with our vast array of equipment to suit every size and confidence level of paddler. Open topped, sit on kayaks provide a safe learning environment where you won’t feel confined within the boat. We also have closed cockpit kayaks which provide a different challenge and offer the opportunity to use a spray deck.
Students will be guided through paddling skills by a specialist BCU paddle sport instructor, along with advice on how to stay safe on the water. This activity helps develop teamwork, communication and confidence on the water through a variety of games. Games such as paddle swap, seat swap and kayak ladder all build on the skills learnt and develop strong balance skills.
